As we look back on the year coming to an end, we would like to share what 2025 has brought us, what we worked on, and the steps we took together with young people across Europe. We traveled, connected young people from different countries, learned from one another, developed new ideas, and launched major European projects. In short: we worked a lot, we worked together, and we left a visible impact.
Throughout the year, we gave young people from Serbia the opportunity to step beyond their local environments and connect with peers from all over Europe. We organized and took part in numerous study visits, international conferences, and educational programs, where young people had the chance to learn, exchange experiences, and build networks that last beyond the projects themselves.
One of the important moments this year was organizing the participation of 10 young people from Niš in the international Startup Weekend conference in Ohrid, where they worked with mentors from different countries and developed entrepreneurial ideas. We also led a study group of 12 participants to Matera, Italy, for a Capacity Building Lab within the Rural Rise project, focused on rural development and innovative local initiatives.
This year, Niš also became a host city for international exchanges. We welcomed around 30 young people, social entrepreneurs, and organizations from Spain and Italy, working together on the development of local ideas and solutions. We are especially proud of the Youth4Development Conference, where we hosted young people from Romania, the Czech Republic, and Cyprus, opening important discussions on development, solidarity, and active youth participation.
We also organized the 11th KreNI Conference, featuring international speakers and experts, once again confirming KreNI as an important meeting point for creative industries, entrepreneurship, and social innovation. In addition, we took part in the Do Impact project through activities in Turin and Riga, as well as a study visit to cultural and creative institutions in Croatia and Montenegro within the KreNI Startup project.
The year 2025 also brought us three new international projects.
For the first time, we became part of the Horizon Europe programme through the ALPHABETICA project, together with partners from Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Poland, Italy, and Cyprus. This project focuses on engaging children and young people in artistic and creative processes, especially those at risk of poverty or social exclusion, through concrete pilot actions across Europe.
We continued our cooperation within Erasmus+ and launched the Y-PLAN project, in partnership with organizations from Greece, Belgium, and Cyprus. Through this project, young people gain knowledge and tools to actively participate in planning their neighborhoods, better understand the spaces they live in, and propose concrete changes in cooperation with local communities.
We also launched the Her Story, Our Future project, together with partners from Spain, Portugal, and Italy. The project empowers young people to promote gender equality through digital tools and storytelling, while highlighting the stories of women who are shaping their communities.
And this is not where we stop…
We wish all of you a 2026 filled with new partnerships, encounters, journeys, and ideas that emerge when we work and think together.
